Workshops for students – When I have been luck enough to visit schools I have offered some of the following enrichment workshops for students. They are one off practical out of your seat exercises.
Code Breakers
This takes a couple of hours and is a crime mystery that involves students learning about and breaking a series of different codes before putting all the pieces together to solve the mystery.
The Exponential Experience
This is a fun simulation activity that gets to some key issues about modelling the spread of a fictitious disease all while developing an appreciation for the exponential function!
Geodesic Domes
This needs a whole morning and some patience but the results are fabulous! Students learn about the amazing structure of geodesic domes by building them!
